It’s always nice to walk into a room and notice a pleasant aroma. Nothing overpowering; we’re not talking about that “teenage boy’s room” smell – like an Axe body spray bottle exploded. Something subtle, like a hint of lavender or jasmine, is much more appealing. This is especially true for bathrooms. Nothing is more offputting than a stinky bathroom! So, what’s the solution? Sure, you buy candles to place in your restroom or have a spray air freshener strategically placed by the toilet. But, sometimes those sprays just smell fake, not to mention all the chemicals they contain. Also, the cost of these items can add up quickly, especially if you spring for the expensive, yummy smelling candles. Never fear, there’s a better way to keep your bathroom smelling fresh! At Sun Plumbing we spend our fair share of time in restrooms, usually repairing toilets and whatnot, and we have some tricks up our sleeve. This week we thought we’d share some DIY recipes so you can make your own all-natural essential oil air freshener sprays! They will make your bathroom or any other room smell great, you can also customize the spray to your preference, you’ll enjoy the health benefits of essential oils, and you might even save money in the long run.
What You’ll Need
To get started, you’ll need some essential oils that you love the smell of. You can combine them for different scents, so it’s good to have multiple kinds. You’ll also need a spray bottle, the recipes we list will yield enough for an 8 oz bottle. To make the spray you’ll also need ¾ cups of water and 2 tablespoons of alcohol, you can use rubbing alcohol or vodka.
